Quality description

Other defects and quality parameters of timber not described above are considered acceptable or may be agreed upon and not permitted. 

Non-penetrating cracks up to 50 mm in length are permitted.

For pine timber, insignificant resin gaps (up to 10 mm in length) are permitted.

CLASS I

A slightly lower quality class.

Wood moisture 8-12%.

Knots are allowed for timber – the size of live branches is not limited, black branches are allowed up to 15 mm.

Fallen branches may be up to 8 mm in size.

Non-penetrating cracks are allowed.

Pine timber is allowed to have resin holes (up to 25 mm in length).

CLASS II

The lowest quality class.

Wood moisture 8-12%.

Knots of unlimited size are allowed for timber (black knots and fallen branches are allowed).

Non-penetrating cracks are allowed.

Penetrating cracks (up to 300 mm in length).

Resin holes are allowed for pine timber (unlimited in size).

For exterior cladding boards and other timber intended for outdoor use, 2 main quality classes are distinguished:

AB QUALITY

Wood moisture 18-20%.

Knots are allowed for timber – the size of live branches is not limited, black knots are allowed up to 20 mm.

Fallen knots may be up to 10 mm in size.

Non-penetrating cracks are allowed.

Resin holes up to 50 mm in length.

QUALITY C

Wood moisture 18-20%.

Knots of unlimited size are allowed for timber (black knots and fallen branches are allowed).

Non-penetrating cracks, Penetrating cracks (up to 300 mm in length) are allowed.

Resin holes (unlimited in size).

Quality is determined by the compliance of geometric, visual, mechanical and physical parameters. For curved wooden flooring, interior decoration boards, skirting boards and other timber intended for indoor use, 3 main quality classes are distinguished.

For all quality classes. Bark (bark of timber) is permissible in invisible parts of the timber that do not affect the visual appearance (bottom of the timber, on the tongue, etc.). Other timber defects and quality-determining parameters not described above are considered acceptable or can be negotiated individually.
